PlumChoice Executive to Focus on Specialized Tech Support Needed for Interconnected Devices, Apps and Services in the Digital Home
Karen McPhillips to Share Insights at CONNECTIONSTM : The Premier Connected Home Conference
LOWELL, MA – (May 8, 2014) – PlumChoice, Inc., the company that partners with leading brands to sell and deliver advanced tech support services that redefine excellence in customer experience, today announced that Vice President of Marketing, Karen McPhillips will participate in a panel discussion about the future of tech support in the connected home at an upcoming Parks Associates event. “CONNECTIONSTM: The Premier Connected Home Conference” will be held from May 13 to 15 at the San Francisco Airport Marriott.
During the session, “Tech Support: Connected Home Strategies and Solutions,” McPhillips and other industry experts will help executives from the Fortune 500, startups and venture capital firms understand the complexities of the connected home and the advanced tech support needed to optimize consumers’ experiences with cloud-based applications and new devices entering the market. The interactive panel discussion, moderated by Patrice Samuels, research analyst, Parks Associates, on Wednesday, May 14 at 8:45 a.m. will address trends related to the future of connected home as well as security concerns and the evolution of tech support services.
“With the evolution of the connected home, brands are inviting consumers to demand more from their products and services,” said McPhillips. “This provides a unique opportunity to increase awareness with brand-agnostic, whole-home technical care that supports today’s – and tomorrow’s – highly personalized and interconnected tech environments. When done correctly, this end-to-end service experience enables brands to become a trusted technical advisor which will lead to new revenue streams and greater lifetime value for the consumer.”
Research from Parks Associates confirms the demand for advanced technical support. The firm’s studies report that nearly a quarter (25 percent) of household device troubleshooters say the availability of technical support and extended warranty options influence what brands and retailers/etailers they purchase from.
“Approximately 50 percent of consumers report that they would prefer to receive help when setting up devices; however, only 15 percent currently use professional help when doing so,” says Patrice Samuels Research Analyst at Parks Associates. “Brands that provide support services that help consumers to navigate and have seamless experiences with their products and services will cultivate more lasting and rewarding relationships with their customers.”
CONNECTIONSTM focuses on innovative solutions for the connected consumer and leading strategies to monetize digital content, mobile applications and services, value-added services, connected consumer electronics, and home systems. The 18th-annual CONNECTIONSTM Conference will be held at the Airport Marriott Waterfront and features keynote presentations from AT&T, Lowe’s, ARRIS, Cisco, and iControl Networks.
“Digital content and connected devices, along with pervasive high-speed Internet, are changing the way consumers communicate and share and obtain information, forcing companies to test new services, licensing agreements, advertising options, and partnership opportunities,” said Stuart Sikes, president of Parks Associates. “CONNECTIONSTM addresses all of these issues with the key stake holders from the industry, including PlumChoice.”
