Wynn Grubbs partners with local experts to define market and shape industry conversations

LOWELL, Mass., (Sept. 8, 2015) – PlumChoice, Inc., the leader in specialized technical services for the Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud enablement, today announced that executive Wynn Grubbs has been named to the Mass Technology Leadership Council’s (MassTLC) IoT Steering Committee. This group of industry experts within the region’s leading technology association collaborates to develop programs, and articulate market challenges and opportunities to MassTLC’s network of technology executives, entrepreneurs and investors.

As PlumChoice’s senior vice president of business and partner development, Grubbs – along with his team – enables leading brands including retailers, distributors, manufacturers, and service and solution providers to navigate and embrace the opportunities presented by the IoT. PlumChoice works with its partners to deploy brand-agnostic, specialized technical support programs that drive greater adoption and lifetime value, while ensuring consumers realize the convenience, control and simplicity they expect from the IoT products and solutions they purchase.

“The success of the IoT is dependent on consumers using, gaining value from and enjoying the devices they buy,” said Grubbs. “Thousands of new products are released to market each year, though only a fraction of them come with the service and support needed to help consumers make the right purchase, install and use the products, and integrate them within existing and highly personalized environments of connected devices. Without service solutions that enable the buyer at every point in the customer journey, even the most innovative ‘things’ will lack adoption, generate no-fault-found returns and, ultimately, fail.”

MassTLC leaders point to forecasts of 50 billion connected devices in the market by 2020, and have developed the IoT Steering Committee to formulate answers and provide thought leadership to this ever-evolving market. On the committee, Grubbs joins leaders from other local technology companies, including Cisco, LogMeIn, Pegasystems and IBM.

“We’re excited to gain Wynn’s perspective on and knowledge of the IoT industry to help shape our initiatives and drive an insightful dialog in the region,” said Tom Hopcrost, MassTLC president and CEO. “The steering committee is influencing some fantastic IoT events for 2016. In the meantime, executives who are interested in learning more about or networking with others in the IoT should explore our IoT Focus Area to access recent blogs and resources developed by our members and staff.”
