Robert Schechter, Chairman of the Board
Bob’s 30 years of broad-based technology and telecommunications experience includes more than a decade as Chairman and CEO of publicly traded NMS Communications (now LiveWire Mobile), and eight years with Lotus Development Corporation, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President, International Business Group. He previously was a Coopers & Lybrand partner responsible for that firm’s high-tech practice in the Northeast region.
Bob also has held various corporate director positions at both public and private companies. He currently serves on the boards of Parametric Technology Corporation and EXA Corporation. Prior board assignments include Soapstone Networks (formerly Avici Networks), Moldflow (acquired by Autodesk),Mapinfo (acquired by Pitney Bowes), Raptor Systems (acquired by Axent Technologies), Infinium Software(acquired by SSA Global Technologies), Circles Associates (acquired by Sodexo), and NuMega Technologies (acquired by Compuware) and several other closely held businesses.
David Shimoni, President and CEO
David brings to PlumChoice a strong background across several high-growth markets, including cloud and IoT. He has held several executive sales and management positions focused on accelerating growth and transforming businesses to maximize market presence and shareholder value. Prior to joining PlumChoice, David was President and GM at Mformation Software Technologies, a leading provider of mobile device management (MDM) solutions in the IoT space. There, he repositioned the company for high growth in the IoT market and played an instrumental role in leading the company through its acquisition by Alcatel-Lucent in 2015.
David has also served in executive leadership roles at market leaders including Comverse Network Systems, a $1.2B public telecom software company; Mobixell Networks, a VC-backed provider of intelligent mobile broadband solutions; and Networks In Motion, a VC-backed location-based services provider.
He holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering and an MBA degree in Marketing and International Business from Columbia Business School.
Ted Werth, Founder
A true pioneer in the technology services sector, Ted combines years of expertise in networking, engineering and entrepreneurship with his passion for innovation and technology services.
As founder of PlumChoice, Ted focused on the customer experience, which led him to build a world-class team that excels in customer service and technical expertise. Prior to PlumChoice, Ted held management and operating roles with data networking companies such as Chipcom and 3-Com. He also led the creation and delivery of an online collaboration service and marketing portal for small businesses after starting his career as an engineer for Westinghouse.
Ted has a BSEE from Lehigh University, and an MBA from Northeastern University.
Managing Partner at M/C Partners, a venture capital firm focused primarily in the services sectors of communications, technology and media, Gillis leads the broadband infrastructure and services portion of the firm’s portfolio. He currently serves as Chairman of Baja Broadband, and is on the Board of Directors of Zayo Group, Corelink Data Centers, CSDVRS, and GTS Central Europe. Previous board seats include ICG Holdings (sold to Level 3), City Signal Communications (sold to Cavalier Telephone), Elantic Networks(merged with Cavalier Telephone), FDN Networks (merged with NuVox Communications), and Cavalier Telephone (sold to Paetec).
Prior to joining M/C, Gillis was with Salomon’s Telecommunications Corporate Finance Group, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions. Gillis graduated cum laude from Duke University and received an AB in economics with distinction.
An Edison Partners General Partner, Gary focuses on enterprise software investments and directs the firm’s regional team based in Virginia. Gary has been a venture capitalist for 21 years, and in that time, has served as a director of 21 companies. Prior to joining Edison in 1997, he co-founded the CEO Venture Fund and served as General Partner and Chief Operating Officer of CEO Venture Fund II.
Gary served on the Advisory Boards of the George Washington University Graduate School of Business, Governor’s Venture Capital Roundtable for the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Entrepreneurial Advisory Council of the Pennsylvania Securities Commission. He was President of the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association, and as a founding member, served as an officer for the Pittsburgh
High Technology Council for 13 years. The Association for Corporate Growth named Gary Dealmaker of the Year.
Gary holds a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Pittsburgh and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Management Science from Boston College.
With more than 25 years of executive management experience, Rick serves on the board of both PlumChoice and Tangoe, Inc. where he previously served as Executive Chairman/CMO.
Prior to joining Tangoe, Rick was CEO of its predecessor company, TRAQ Wireless, a provider of enterprise mobility logistics software and services. He also served as President and COO of both Broadwing Communications (now part of Level 3) and Cincinnati Bell. Earlier in his career, he held several executive positions at AT&T, MCI (now Verizon) and Sprint Nextel.
Rick holds an MBA in Finance and a BS in Biological Science from Drexel University.
Thomas A. Proulx
Co-founder of Intuit and author of Quicken, Thomas Proulx was pivotal in pioneering the consumer software industry. He served as a director on the boards of numerous venture-backed technology startup companies, and currently serves as a director on the boards of iControl and PlumChoice. Thomas is chairman of the boards of WorkingPoint and Netpulse, Inc., and serves on the board of advisors for Yola.
Thomas is a 1992 recipient of the Inc. Magazine Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the University of Southern California’s 1995 Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science from Stanford University.
