MassEcon Honors PlumChoice as a Community Hero for the 11th Annual Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards
Company Recognized for its Hands-on Training, Relationships with Educational Institutions and Engagement with the Massachusetts Tech Community
LOWELL, MA, (October 15, 2014) – PlumChoice, Inc., the leading specialized technical services provider in optimizing the benefits consumers and small companies derive from their personal technology experiences, has been named a “Community Hero” award recipient as part of the 11th Annual Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards, presented annually by MassEcon. PlumChoice, along with all of the regional economic impact award winners, will be recognized at a luncheon on Nov. 25 at the Renaissance Waterfront Hotel in Boston. More than 400 business and community leaders are expected to attend.
“We are proud to be recognized as a Community Hero by MassEcon; this honor is testimony to the commitment and dedication of the PlumChoice team to growing and prospering right here in our home state,” said Bob Badavas, CEO of PlumChoice. “Supporting the Massachusetts economy and community by hiring, training and developing the impressive technical talent that the region has to offer enables us to better serve our customers, which in turn brings value to all our stakeholders. With the mainstreaming of the “Internet of Things,” there’s a rapid volume of devices entering our already complex connected lives, bringing consumer expectations for convenience, control and simplicity to an all-time high. This creates a tremendous need for specialized technical services, which wouldn’t be possible without the resources and technical orientation of the Commonwealth.”
PlumChoice, one of only three companies in the Bay State selected as a Community Hero, was chosen based on its involvement in the state’s community. The company provides real-world technology services experiences through career-mobile, part- and full-time jobs with higher wages and benefits to students enrolled in technical schools and universities, such as the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology. PlumChoice will continue to invest in the state’s talented and fledgling technicians, STEM education initiatives, community and economy through its hiring and enrichment practices, community engagement and support, technology development, and service excellence.
“The Massachusetts Economic Impact Award winners have made great contributions to our state’s economy and have spurred regional development throughout the Commonwealth,” said Secretary of Housing and Economic Development Greg Bialecki. “I commend these companies for their investments and look forward to our ongoing partnership as they continue to expand and create jobs here in Massachusetts.”
In addition to the Community Hero awards, MassEcon selected regional gold, silver and bronze winners for its annual Economic Impact Awards based on job growth, facility expansion and investment since Jan. 1, 2013, as well as other criteria including community involvement.
