Step 4
On the folder list, click the + next to the Windows folder. Select the Temp directory by clicking once on it. Using Ctrl and A, select all files on the files list. Press the DEL key on your keyboard to delete the files.
From the Folders List, locate 'Recycle Bin'. Right click on it to display the menu. Choose 'Empty Recycle Bin'.
Next, click on 'Search' located on the Standard Toolbar at the top of the Explorer Window.
Choose 'All Files and Folders' from Search Companion located on the left side of the Search Window.
Type in *.tmp in the “All or part of the file name:” box.
Choose 'Local Hard Drives (C:)' from the drop down menu in the “Look in:” field.
Click on the double arrows on the right of “More Advanced Options” and check the box next to “Search hidden files and folders”.
Click 'Search'.
On the Search Results window, press Ctrl and A to select all the temp files and then press the DEL key to delete the remaining temp files on your computer.
