PlumChoice Growth Prompts Management Team Expansion, Enhancing Partner Services for Remote Technical Services Business

BILLLERICA, MA (September 16, 2009) - PlumChoice today announced a series of new executive appointments designed to support recent and ongoing rapid growth of the company's premium technical services business. The expanded team - including the company's first chief operating officer as well as a new chief financial officer, chief information officer and vice president of sales and marketing - strengthens PlumChoice's ability to service corporate partners through whom it delivers 24x7 online repair and assistance for digital devices.

Effective immediately, new PlumChoice management team appointments include:

  • Fred King, promoted to the new position of Chief Operating Officer. King's COO responsibilities include overseeing operations, information technology, product management/development, partner implementations, services marketing strategy, and partner sales and marketing. He joined the company in 2007 as VP of Sales and Marketing and has been a chief architect of its channel partner sales strategy.
  • Kevin Rhodes, new Chief Financial Officer. Rhodes most recently spent eight years as CFO of Edgewater Technology, a Nasdaq-traded technology management consulting firm focusing primarily on business intelligence and data services. He succeeds Dan Baker, who remains with PlumChoice as Vice President of Finance.
  • Charles Welti, new Chief Information Officer. Welti's experience includes serving as VP of Enterprise Architecture at State Street Bank, a NYSE-traded provider of financial services to institutional investors, as well as holding a variety of information technology positions with Investors Bank and Trust, Veridiem and IBM Global Services.
  • Wynn Grubbs, new VP of Sales and Marketing, replacing King. Grubbs has held sales and marketing leadership positions for companies in the software, SaaS and outsourced services sectors. "Our success in building our partner base and transaction volumes over the past few years created a need to enhance our management framework, both by adding a new COO position and by bringing on new executive team members with knowledge and experience in working with rapid-growth companies," said PlumChoice CEO Ted Werth. "These new leadership roles will ensure our ability to maintain high service levels for our channel partners, effectively scale the business, and take full advantage of new business opportunities moving forward."
